Job Description


PSI Laboratory Specialists provide professional managerial input to global clinical studies ensuring that the central, regional, and local laboratories involved in the study comply with industry good practices, PSI’s Standard Operating procedures and all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the selection of central and regional laboratories for clinical studies
  • Providing support / consultancy on lab-related issues of clinical studies
  • Participating in technical assessment of laboratories
  • Coordinating the contracting of clinical laboratories
  • Performing study-specific remote set up of clinical laboratories
  • Preparing laboratory-related clinical study documentation
  • Coordinating the transfer of samples between laboratories
  • Participating in routine calls with contracted labs
  • Conducting initiation and monitoring visits to laboratories
  • Delivering training in laboratory related procedures
  • Investigating and resolving issues with laboratories, couriers and clinical study sites

Qualifications


Required

  • University or college degree in Life Sciences or an MD degree
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a clinical or research laboratory
  • Ability to plan and work in a dynamic team environment
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of spoken and written English
  • Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications
  • Peer reviewed publications in international scientific journals would be an advantage

Desired / Beneficial

  • A degree focused on Microbiology / Mycology
  • Practical experience in Microbiology / Mycology
  • A PhD in Life Sciences
  • Experience of working within clinical trials
  • Peer reviewed publications in international scientific journals would be an advantage
