Material Planner at a glance

The Materials Planner is responsible for creating new and revised purchase orders to the company’s vendors for production of secondary and tertiary packaging materials (i.e. labels- shrink film- and corrugated trays) to our external manufacturers. As part of Primal Kitchen’s Operations team- you’ll work cross-functionally with our Purchasing- Graphics- and Receiving team and directly with our print vendors to ensure deadlines are met.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Maintain material components forecast sheet used for demand planning
  • Coordinate to obtain all required data and ordering details including forecast and order quantities
  • Create and submit purchase orders to vendors
  • If required- obtain necessary approval signatures for all vendor art proofs before going to print
  • Manage on time delivery of purchase orders with each vendor and communicate timeline to relevant stakeholders
  • Communicate in-transit orders to Receiving team for timely receipt in ERP system

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must be at least 18-years of age
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to manage time and work independently in a remote setting (home-based)
  • ERP/SAP equivalent experience required
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel/Google Sheets experience required
  • Strong communication skills with internal stakeholders (cross-functional collaboration with peers/leaders within the organization) and external stakeholders (vendors/clients)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Vendor management
  • Raw material handling
