At Visual Components, we build world-class 3D simulation software for manufacturers. Our solution is used for designing the factories of the future already today. With our software, the users design production lines, simulate and analyze the production flow, perform virtual commissioning projects, and much more. Since acquiring the Delfoi Robotics OLP solution in 2022, we now also have a powerful robot offline programming tool that enables users to bring their virtual programs to real-life production systems with high accuracy.

Visual Components is an international company. Our headquarters are in Espoo, Finland, but we have offices in Tampere, Finland, the US, and Germany, along with a global partner network of partners and resellers. The Visual Components team is truly multinational - we have people from over 22 countries, and we speak at least 12 languages!
The role and the team
Visual Components is a creative company that continuously innovates by investing heavily in R&D. We actively participate in European research initiatives, currently under Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.
We are looking for a Project Coordinator (RnD and Innovation) to join our team. Research projects are carried out in collaboration between several members of the different teams at Visual Components. The selected candidate will work in cooperation with the R&D Manager on the management and development of the projects.
We are looking for someone with great tech skills in automation, production, computer science, or a similar field. You are eager to join international projects in cooperation with universities, research centers, and companies, either online or on-site. Most importantly, you are enthusiastic to learn and help others.
You will make an impact by
- Planning and coordinating research and development projects from proposal to commercialization and closing phases to ensure timely completion and successful delivery
- Collaborating closely with various stakeholders inside and outside of Visual Components and coordinating the work of cross-functional teams
- Maintaining accurate documentation and preparing comprehensive reports to provide valuable insights and visibility into project progress facilitating informed decision-making and accountability
- Conducting in-depth research and analysis to identify new technologies and market opportunities, making an impact by driving innovation and staying ahead of the curve
- Staying updated with emerging technologies and proposing innovative ideas to fuel continuous improvement and drive the company's culture of innovation

Skills and experience important for the role:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics, with demonstrated knowledge in one or several areas of automation and robotics, ICT, etc.- Proven project management and coordination skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Great communication skills and experience in collaborating on projects with various stakeholders
- Experience in writing comprehensive technical reports adapted to various audiences: business, engineering, and academic
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English (other languages are seen as an advantage)
What we see as a great bonus:
- Programming skills gained from previous work, studies, or hobbies
- Experience in participating in EU research projects is seen as an advantage
The ability to travel to European countries is also important for the role.
