The Package: $1,190.13 - $1,315.04 gross per week + 11% super. (Evaluated as Grade 6 of the QPRC Salary System 2022).

Position Overview: As a member of the Animal Management team, this position’s primary purpose is to assist with administration tasks including animal adoptions, release and impound of animals, finance management and data entry. The position relies on the applicant to liaise with and provide customer service to community members and external parties through face-to-face contact, phone and email in a prompt and courteous manner. Other duties include maintaining clean and hygienic accommodation and feeding routines for animals within the facilities. Maintaining and monitoring animal health, infection control, injuries and medicating appropriately, are all a crucial part of this role as is providing exercise and enrichment programs to the animals housed within the facility.
Who we are looking for: The ideal candidate will have qualifications in Animal Studies (or equivalent) or be working towards them and have experience in small and large animal handling. You should be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of identifying animal health and behavioural issues. You will have proven experience in conducting temperament assessments on animals. Knowledge of, and an understanding of the Companion Animal Act would be desirable. Great customer service is essential.
Working with us: This position offers a 38-hour week with a rostered day off each fortnight with a rostered system which will include work on weekends, public holidays and Christmas close-down periods where applicable. Full uniform is provided. In return, this rewarding position will see you heavily involved in animal welfare including animal adoptions and finding ‘forever homes’ for many of the animals passing through the facility.
