Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) has been one of the most rapidly growing vehicle segments in recent years. The pandemic has further accelerated adoption of such vehicles. Recognizing growth in demand for LCVs among commercial fleet operators, Goodyear has launched Goodyear Sightline. Through Sightline, Goodyear aims to release a suite of tire intelligence technologies that aim to help fleet operators minimize downtime and improve tire management.
The Opportunity
With multiple Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) across several fleets sending data to Goodyear’s Mobility Cloud (GMC), your goal will be to help Goodyear analyze these vehicle datasets at large to identify trends in a fleet’s “driving and operating behaviors”. You will play a key role in identifying metrics that well capture these trends. Lastly, by creating dashboards in the cloud, you will help algorithm and business teams better visualize fleet behavior. The result of your work is highly impactful as it helps Goodyear learn more about the fleets we serve today, which in turn helps provide them better products and services in the future.
Responsibilities :
- Literature review on using combining different data sources (GPS, IMU, tire pressure, tire temperature, and tire footprint length) for making insights on driving behavior.
- Exploring opportunities for enhancing vehicle dataset by interfacing with 3rd party applications (example: weather stations, maps, road data).
- Understanding Goodyear’s cloud architecture and data pipeline.
- Collaborating with algorithm & platform teams to aggregate data from multiple sources.
- Identifying metrics that can capture a fleet’s driving and operating behavior.
- Creating dashboards for visualization of key metrics.
- Documentation of results.
To join our team you will need:
Education:
Pursuing a master’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar technical field.
Languages:
Business proficient in English.
Skills & Qualifications:
IT/Technical skills:
- Programming language: Python.
- Knowledge of Cloud platform technology – AWS (preferred) or Azure.
- Knowledge of dashboard tools for data visualization in cloud.
- Knowledge of statistics, machine learning techniques, trend analysis, big data analysis.
Soft skills:
- Self-motivated, accept difficult challenges, and think out of the box mentality.
- Adaptability & versatility are key.
- Enthusiastic team player, self-learning with interest in the automotive world.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
You must be available for 6 months & be enrolled in university.
