About the role
This position will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of the service department to deliver a profitable and proficient service that meets the needs of customers. These outcomes are delivered by building and maintaining a safe and cohesive work environment, adhering to processes that are proficient, and customer-focused, providing a high level of training and knowledge to all staff, and maintaining proficiencies and process optimisation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Establishing and driving performance improvement in collaboration with other departments to achieve the dealership proficiency targets and customer satisfaction
- Collaborating with other departments to build and manage customer relationships to understand our customers’ needs in order to deliver to expectations
- Leading team members to create a culture within the Department where personal accountability and a continuous improvement mindset are front of mind
- Leading by example and demonstrating a commitment to a zero-harm safety culture
- Driving and role modelling safe work practices, holding safety toolbox meetings, hazard identification and rectification, maintenance of plant and equipment, completing inspections and leading the WHS committee meetings
About you
The successful applicant will have:
- Ability to develop and drive employee performance in service department
- An extensive track record of top service department performance
- Strong leadership experience in building a positive team culture
- Preferably from an automotive industry
- Desire to lead and deliver exceptional customer service
- A high level of personal commitment to safety and compliance with safety requirements
- Superb interpersonal skills, particularly in motivating teams and creating a positive working environment
