Technical Support Engineer
Are you a technical trouble shooter who excels in Root Cause Analysis and likes to support customers all over the globe? Join us at Weir as a Technical Support Engineer!
As a Technical Support Engineer, you’re providing technical support to our customers worldwide with the goal to resolve customer complaints and to create After Market business. You will have close contact with several stakeholders like our customers all over the globe, local account managers, local based distributors and our field service engineers. You will also be working closely together with Engineering, Spare Parts and Sales.
This is a challenging and varied position in which you can put your passion for technology to good use. Weir Minerals attaches great importance to customer focus and together with our team within Venlo and worldwide you ensure the ultimate customer experience and ensure optimal use of our HPGR in the field.
Responsibilities
Amongst others:
- You will be involved in technical troubleshooting support, Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Coordination of field testing.
- Making technical proposals (including procedures) for upgrades, repairs and/or reconditioning.
- You will analyse the production process, condition monitoring data and analyse wear on components of equipment in the field.
- Provide suggestions for efficiency and optimization to the customer.
- Support Service Level Agreements.
- You will be travelling for about 15% of your time to mine sites all over the globe.

Education & qualifications
- Completed a bachelor degree in a field such as mechanical-, electrical or maritime engineering (or similar);
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience;
- Fluency in English and Dutch, verbally as well as in writing;
- You’re customer oriented and eager to build relationships with colleagues, internal and external customers and suppliers;
- You have a strong commitment to continuous improvement on a technical level;
- You are able to set priorities and deal with a variety of situations all over the globe. There’s never a dull moment in the life of a Technical Support Engineer.
