Overview of the role
Applications are now open for a Mechanical Design Drafter to join the Engineering Services & Projects team.
This role is the single point of contact for all mechanical drawing related matters at Nyrstar Port Pirie and is responsible for the application, modification and maintenance of appropriate design standards and procedures. Attention to detail with a strong focus to customer service is key to the success of this role.

This is a residential role, based in Port Pirie, South Australia on a Monday to Friday roster. Relocation assistance will be provided to the successful candidate if required.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, apply, modify and maintain appropriate design standards and procedures
- Single point of contact for all Mechanical/Structural drafting and drawing related matters
- Ensure all personnel from the Engineering Service Provider (ESP) are aware of, have access and comply with the drafting standards and procedures
- Upload and manage drawings and documentation into DMS system, including historical and project drawings
- Drawing number management including up keeping of drawing registers
- Auditing of drawings to confirm latest revisions
- Auditing plant/equipment to generate redline markups and as-build drawings
- 3D model management and coordination
Qualifications/Experience & Abilities:
- Mechanical diploma or trade qualification
- 2-3 years relevant experience in the mining and resources industry
- Excellent organisational and communication skills and attention to detail
- Customer service approach with an ability to influence and negotiate
- Experience in Autodesk Inventor and Auto CAD
- Experience in the following systems is desirable:
- Navisworks, AutoCAD Plant 3D, 3DS Max (desirable)
- Vault or Vault Professional (desirable)
- Skeletal Modelling Techniques (desirable)
