The Shoshan group at the Department of Chemistry is searching for a highly motivated research assistant or laboratory technician to help us characterize and study the efficacy, safety, and stability of drug candidates we have developed against lead (Pb) poisoning. The project involves assisting in peptide synthesis, conducting physiochemical and in vitro assays, and intensively working with mice.
The project is initially designed for 12 months. Upon mutual agreement, the assistant might then have the opportunity to transition into the start-up that will be established to further translate these technologies.

Your responsibilities

The successful candidate will join our team to work on synthesizing drug candidates, characterizing them for their physical, chemical and medicinal properties and test them in animal models.

Your profile

The applicant must be certified to conduct animal studies in Switzerland (such as the LTK-1 certificate) and have experience in mice studies. In addition, experience in organic synthesis, HPLC purification, and analytical tools such as NMR, MS, and UV/Vis are advantageous. You have a Master's degree in chemistry/biochemistry/biology or a completed apprenticeship as a laboratory technician (EFZ Laborant*in) in chemistry/biochemistry/biology with several years of professional experience.
